A mobile application built using Oracle Forms and Reports Builder (Accenture)

Overview
The mobile application was created with the goal of simplifying user online-banking by emphasizing product clarity, ease of use, and safety. This was primarily created to encourage people who are not as technically adept to use the technology

Understanding the problem
  • Consumers who use internet banking expect it to be more flexible and user-friendly.
  • The users prefer quick fund transfers and bill payments, and ease of access to banking services
  • They also want to be able to conduct online banking in public locations with the same level of security as traditional banking.
Problem statement
Users require simple access to financial services as well as a convenient and useful banking experience  that allows them to manage their bank accounts safely even in public areas.
Design and Implementation
  • The application was developed using the query language in Oracle Forms and Reports Builder(Version 11g).
  • The forms were used to create a user interface for accessing the oracle database and the report builder was used to generate reports of the data stored in the oracle database.
  • In the Forms builder, I designed the layout using Forms designer. The Forms generator and Run Form were used to compile the code and run the file.
  • In the Reports builder, I used report wizard to create a new report and customized the layout that would be displayed to the user.
Wireframing and Prototyping
  1. Home page - This contains the list of pages in the app
  2. Login page  - To enter into the account using enterprise id and password.
  3. User account page - This contains the users' primary details of the  account.
  4. Online-Banking page - Created for quick fund transfers and bill payments,    as well as easy access to banking services.
  5. New account page - To open a new account online that is approved by the  manager and then directed to the login page.
  6. Internet call - To administer service support or information enquiries from    consumers.
  • Using the report wizard in the reports builder, I created a report of the bank statement detail for each user.
  • With all the user problems identified, the prototype was designed and sent to the testing stage
  • Many iterations of testing were carried out, and changes were made until a satisfactory user experience was achieved.
RESULT
  • Created paper wireframes and prototypes of the product to build a basic structure for the app and integrate the ideas in the best way possible.
  • Built digital prototypes to test the idea and virtually explore the product.
  • Designed the page layout with the forms designer and linked the pages using query language. The application had

For a mock project, I was successfully able to design and implement a prototype that solves users' problems by providing a user friendly banking experience, easy access to financial services, and the ability to safely manage bank accounts even in public places.
